mr bmx4 and I are having a disagreement on what to do.
The baby is either permantly congested or has allergies. Regardless, he has started coughing every morning around 4am. It is a phlegm-y cough and sometimes he goes back to bed and sometimes he wakes up (for the day) if he coughs long enough. There doesn't seem to be any immediate danger - there's no weezing, he doesn't cry, we have a video monitor to see him, we go in his room to watch him, etc. He has a dr appointment in a week or so (regular appointment) and we will be addressing this then (has already been seen once about it and the drs aren't sure what is wrong but they are not concerned about his lungs).
One of wants to go in and pick/wake him up and give him a bottle (since he's only 6 months old and can't get himself a glass of water, should help with the coughing) and the other one wants to wait to see if he goes back to bed/only pick him up if the cough sounds dangerous and/or baby cries (doesn't want to "train" the baby to eat at 4am).
What is your point of view on this?
Re: baby coughing 4am - pick him up or no?
uhh sickness/coughing/being overall uncomfortable = pick him up. this isn't a baby trying to get your attention, he is sick (or something similar)
thank you for your replies!
I wondered if "popular opinion" would side with me or the husband
