Feelings on wearing heels while pregnant?

I haven't thus far, but my Dad's wedding is this Sept and I will be wearing this dress:?https://www.specialoccasionmaternity.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=41

I just can't imagine it will look ok with flats. I'll be 34 weeks by the time of the wedding. Thoughts?

?

  • I would for something like that.  The only reason I would think it would be bad is if you had some swelling.

  • Don't do it- Your feet will be crying if you do--
  • If I can jam my feet into them, I wear them!

  • I would wear heels if I felt like it, but it's hard to estimate how you'll feel about it some September! Do you normally wear heels? I live in flip flops, and if I were to try to wear heels NOW it would kill my feet. Stick out tongue

  • I love my heels and I'm not about ready to give them up!!

  • Why not wear some wedges of some sort?  That way you won't have to balance on a skinny heel, but you can have some height.
  • When I have to wear heels I always bring some flats or flip flops to change into.

  • If you do decide on heels, wait untill the week before to buy them, cause you never know how big your feet will be.  Then make sure to wear them at home to get them comfy.  You could always bring a back up pair of flats too.
  • I would wear a lower heel, maybe something like this? The heel is chunky enough to give you a little more stability. Also, take a pair of flip flops for the reception as backup.

  • I would if they were comfortable.  Maybe you could find a cute pair of kitten heels so they aren't really high.  They have some cute flats that look like normal heels as well, like these...image

  • i wouldn't think twice about wearing heels while pregnant

  • I love heels.. no one will rip them off my feet.. I hate kitten heels though.. thats just me... I would wear heels and bring flip flops as a back up or something some fancy strappy kind...
  • I agree with Christin3580.  I'd wear midheel sandals or peep toe heels for the pics, and bring a cute pair of flip-flops to wear later.
  • If they fit and you feel okay in them...carry on then. Just make sure you get ones that don't make you feel off balance.

And bring some more comfy shoes...but I did that prepreg too.

  • I still wear heels every day.

I agree, the dress just wouldn't look right in flats.  Maybe you could find a fancier wedge?  I hear those are a bit more comfy than heels, if you have to be walking/standing lots.

  • Thanks guys! I definitely think I'll bring a back up pair of flip flops. Good advice
  • I haven't worn heels consistently for quite some time. I wore some comfortable heels to an interview yesterday and paid for it the rest of the day/night. My hips, legs, and lower back were so sore. I tried soaking in the tub before bed just to help take away the pain. DH and I have a wedding to go to on Saturday and i'm not sure what to do because I don't own any cute flats and i don't know if i can make it through another night in heels. YIKES!!!

  • how about something w/ a wedge or platform, i prefer those over flats anyways (they feel a lot more comfortable and my back doesn't hurt as much at the end of the day). You could also just take 2 pairs along and switch into the flats when you get tired.

  • I couldn't get your dress to load right so I'm not sure what it looks like but I too would suggest wedges or a shorter heel.  A kitten heel though might be a little unstable.  One of the big reasons that doctors advise against heels during pregnancy is the risk of falling.

This is what I got to wear this weekend at my sister's wedding with my bridesmaid dress.  They aren't my normal style as normally I like a high heel so I didn't want to spend a lot of money...

They come in other colors as well.  Bring some flip flops along as well!  GL!
