XP: Choosing a Pediatrician - WWYD?

I just found out that my own pediatrician (that I saw until age 18) is still working and has a practice! She is awesome! I love her!I had a list of 4 or 5 peds that I was planning on calling and interviewing; however, now, I just want this Dr!If you were in my shoes, and this Dr accepts our insurance and was accepting new patients....would you bother interviewing anyone else?

  • No. I tried going to several different pediatricians and ended up using my family physician who I knew I liked. I wish I would have just gone there from the beginning.

  • My only concern would be how long they plan on having their practice open. You would just have to switch pedi's eventually if they are retiring soon.
  • if you feel comfortable with this dr., they accept your insurance, they are up to date with the medical knowledge and it's convenient for you then I say go for it!

  • If you really like the one you grew up with, then stick with her. Save yourself the hassle of interviews! Smile

  • no.  Don't mess with something that works.
