can LO have yeast diaper rash but not thrush?

just wondering. the nurse i spoke to said to treat it first with lotrimen b/c it may not be thrush.

    DD has never had thrush in her mouth, but got a yeast diaper rash every time she was on antibiotics so it is quite possible.  Lotrimin worked wonders for her!

    Our DD had a diaper rash that my mom, a nurse, said she thought might be a mild yeast diaper rash.  It cleared up on its own over time.  She hasn't had thrush, that we've known of.

    My DS has a yeast infection now but has never had thrush.  We're trying Lotrimin as soon as I get home.
