My dad suggested "Cashew". That evolved from the fact that the baby is Irish Catholic/Jewish therefore Cath-Jew which sound a lot like cashew. I was rather impressed with the creativity.
DH was calling it Sasha for a while but he seems to have outgrown that. In emails it is BW for "Baby W....." (our last name). More often then not I just say "the baby".
Life is either a daring adventure or it is nothing at all.
My stepfather has been calling the baby "Ralphie" & it cracks everyone up. Every time I call, he says to my mom, "Ralphie's Mommy is calling." I told him it is cute in-utero, but it is not even on our top 1000 possible names. Dh has been calling them "the babies" because he is convinced it is twins - we shall see in about a week. I've been saying "little one"... apparently he/she/they have many nn aleady.

I alternate between "jellybean" since that's what it looks like on the u/s pic, and the "parasite" on the days when I feel like it's sucking the life out of me. DH and I think "parasite is funny, but some of our family/friends don't really like it. I just tell them that is exactly what the little critter is - a being that lives off of another being... a parasite...
SInce we know the names we'll really call the baby, depending on boy or girl, we call the baby Narlet or Charnate. Narlet on a bad day, Charnate on a good day. The boy's name is Nathaniel, the girl's name is Charlotte.
Re: What are you calling your little one??
This. For some reason we are both also referring to the baby as a "he." Just a feeling.

Cute! remember that movie, Short Circuit? "Number 5 is alive!" hehe
oh, and also we're very unoriginal. we need a nickname because we always just say "the baby"
That's where we got it from.
Whenever someone asks how the baby is we joke "Number 5 is alive!!" lol!
