really funny: we had tables get up and sing a song about love for us to kiss. My H's 8 yr old niece (and a flower girl) got up and sang "you are my sunshine' all by herself. It was adorable.
did you have any really funny or horriffic moments happen?
Ha, yes.
The wind really picked up (and thank god - it was terribly unseasonably hot before then) and blew over these huge dried flower arrangements we'd set up near the 'alter'.
Also, we had 4 tables set up outside behind the pavilion where the ceremony took place, and the centerpieces were candles in glass hurricane bowls (with ribbon tied around the bowl and sparkly 'berries' around the bottom) and the wind blew the tablecloth over the centerpiece and the tablecloth caught on fire. The bridal party was sitting facing the audience and we saw them get horrified looks on their faces and try to catch someone's attention subtly, because no one else could see it. We noticed, but didn't know what was happening (I thought DH's family had shown up after all at the time).
Luckily it got caught before there was too much damage and we bought the tablecloth as a souvenir - it mostly melted, so has a giant hole in it, lol.
And DH nearly burned his groomsmen hand when he helped him try to light the taper for the unity candle.

Oh, and after the ceremony, as DH and I are walking around to the side of the pavilion to greet everyone, my veil was blown right off my head. That was a funny moment. I just left it off after that.

do you even remember walking down the aisle? what was running through your head?
"Oh, hell, the music is off. Whoops. We should have timed that better. OMG, it's so gorgeous. OMG, I hope my dress looks ok. Don't rip the veil, don't rip the veil. Who's here? OK. So, let's get this show on the road."

I got teary. DH got choked up. I cried during the toasts when my dad told my husband that he was sorry dh's family didn't come, but it didn't matter, because he always had a family now. My sister welcomed him to the family too, and I cried then. All the toast pics are me making funny faces.

Shocking, too. I was SO exhausted, hadn't sleep in days (and didn't sleep until after the 'honeymoon' ). I was sore and tired and the first thing I said to dh in our hotel room was 'Get me the f*** out of this dress right now' and it was not in a sexy way at all. We both took showers and then drank champagne and soaked our feet in the tub together and then had sex.
And it was really good - in the top 10 list, I think.

Nowhere - that was the problem. We got married back home and stayed there so we could see everyone and it was awful trying to fit everyone in and the bed was too soft and I was miserable.

were the first couple months of marriage easier or harder than you expected?
Way easier. We went through the hard stuff in the year before the wedding, and lived together for three months before the wedding, so we knew we were ready, we'd already settled in and having it over and done with (so his family stopped interfering) made a HUGE difference.

Nope, but it was still a very religious ceremony officiated by a pastor who is also a friend.
