We got married on the 3rd anniversary of our 1st date, although we were friends for years first.  We had been together a year-and-a-half when he proposed.

Cake was cupcakes. A friend made them:  coconut, some kind of chocolate, and yellow with strawberry filling.

Bridesmaids - yes.  One was my sister, who lives with us. The other is a friend from birth - my mom's best friend's daughter.  The third was my best friend.  Being her matron-of-honor made me hate her, but I am slowly forgiving her.  We hang out.

The place was an old hunting camp, so people could stay over.  Of course, we are klassy and planned an after-party kegger.  The cops, fire, rescue showed up because there was a domestic violence issue.  One of my mom's friends got drunk and tried to drive away.  Her husband was begging her not to and holding onto the car.  SHe drove away and dragged him. He was okay, just road rash on his face.  She was arrested and the cops took her away.

We ended up with both.  The band (Texas Country - Brandon Rhyder & co.) would only play for 2 hours, so we got a DJ for the other 2 hours.

I'm actually disappointed.  There are a few I like, but for the most part, they aren't anything special.  most of our "posed" pics are terrible.

tell me about the best part - the cake(s)

4 layers with a cascade of green cymbidium orchids down the side.  I totally copied one of the cakes on the knot. 

2 layers of white cake with strawberry cream cheese filling and buttercream icing and 2 layers of chocolate cake with a dark chocolate amaretto ganache with buttercream icing.

YUM.

2 were my sisters and one was a cousin, so yes.  one was SIL and we're not really that close, never really were since she went away to college in boston after we had pretty much just started dating.

the other two were friends and one i talk to a couple times a week, the other one i'm just losing touch with.

we served chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese and pepper with black beans, rice, and salads.  everyone raved about the food for a couple months after.  it was pretty delish.

i actually held it, but not consciously...i just never had to go (which is surprising)

It was only horriffic to me, we had to move the ceremony indoors against my will.  I wasn't a bridezilla up until the time when the ceremony started, I held it up to try to let the rain pass.

I think I skipped this one, but I had similar thoughts.  My aisle ended up being treacherous steps down since we had to move the ceremony inside.  I thought I'd end up rolling down the aisle.

OMG mine turned into a total groomzilla too.

And we had a major fight at the rehearsal dinner.  Wedding almost didn't happen.
