3rd Trimester

Sex while PG

For the most part it's great- despite the fact that DH and I can no longer get into a really "good" position. As long as we can get the basics working- we'll take it.

But, does anyone else get really nauseous during sex? At first I thought it was just my position, so I try to make sure my head is NOT hanging below my heart anymore (sometimes it just ends up that way...).

Now, no matter what we do- I feel like I'm going to puke (and sometimes do) immediately afterwards. It sucks. Anyone else?

  • Sorry, no nausea here...?

But that's probably because there's no sex here!?

  • If he's at it from behind, whether lying on side behind or "doggy" I'm fine, but if he tries any positions where He or I am bouncing against the belly or my legs/feet anywhere not on solid ground, I feel seasick and want to vomit.  Not sexy!!!!

    This does cause a problem...

We just started getting busy again after a two month dry spell.

  • I do!

I feel so sick during and I think it is because my belly jiggles so much!  lol  I haven't actually gotten sick but it is a crazy feeling.

  • How soon do you have sex after eating? I treat it the same as exercise. Drink fluids before, and don't eat for at least 30min before. That's my theory.

I think you nailed the cause- the bouncing with feet not planted on the ground. But we can't do it from behind any more b/c my cervix is WAY too sensitive and he tends to hit it. BAD pain. BAD. no no no.

  • At least you're still wanting sex :)  After about week 31 I didn't desire it anymore and since 35w it's way too much pressure to enjoy it at this point!  Good for you that youre making the attempt!

  • I agree.....we would have to be actually having sex to have this problem. At least I am not alone...it sounds like some of you ladies aren't getting any either :( I don't even know if it would be comfortable or worth trying, but I miss it.

As far as advice, I would try the not eating before and keep the rhythm as soft as possible.

     Enjoy it!

Try the side laying position from behind, it gives a more shallow penetration so he may not hit the too sensitive cervix.

I second this motion.  We did the deed last night and started out in kind of a leaning missionary...we switched to the spoon pretty quickly, there was just too much belly in between us!
