What were some of your favorite books your parents read to you as a child? I'm trying to make a list of books to keep an eye out for and it's been fun remembering but I know I'm missing a lot of good ones!

Sendak's The Nutshell Library and most of those stated above.
Tales from Fern Hollow by John Patience were my favorite:
Followed closely by The Berenstain Bears.
Ditto on the Berinstein bears books.
Also loved Cabbage Rose, The Maggie B, Any of the Frances books (Bread & Jam for Frances, baby sister for Frances, etc...) and Shel Silverstein books.
I still have almost all my old books from when I was a kid so I get to recycle them for my children
Loss #6 2014 Loss #7 (chemical) 2014
~DS Born! 2009~
~DD Born! 2013~
I loved the Poky Little Puppy, the Frances books (like "A Bargain For Frances) and some book called April's Kittens. (Not real helpful because I don't remember the author, but it had the most beautiful charcoal drawings.)
I'm feeling the slightest bit bad because my poor kid is going to be pretty deprived. I hate Dr. Suess (have my entire life) so I will not be buying a single one. I guess I will let DH read the ones that are given to us, but I fully intend to avoid them the best that I can.
Good Night moon and alllllll the Sesame Street books!! My Mom still has them and is splitting them in between my Sister and I for our kids : )
Harry the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion
One Kitten for Kim by Adelaide Holl
Serendipity books by Stephen Cosgrove
Mr. Men and Little Miss books by Roger Hargreaves
Puddle Duck (not the Beatrix Potter one)
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?
