Hi mamas,

If this has been asked, feel free to link me to the post, I scanned back 30 pages and didn't see anything.

What were your signs that labor was coming, and how close to labor starting did they come? If it was your first, did you deliver early, on time, or late?

I googled, but I always appreciate first hand accounts if you're willing to share.

Hi there!

I got a burst of energy about 4 days before I went into labor. I was able to get a ton of stuff done - as opposed to the puddle of exhaustion I had felt for the weeks up to it.

I got diahrea pretty bad the day before, so I was fairly sure something was coming.

MP was lost at 33 weeks, bloody show was lost while I was in the hospital - 3 hours before delivery.

I delivered at 38w6d and she is my first.

Not trying to be rude, really, but these posts kill me. Why does when my contractions started, when my water broke or how early MY baby was have any bearing on when yours will? Honestly. I know its hard to be patient. But its a waiting game. EVERY woman is different so I doubt me telling you what my signs of labor were (I was induced BTW) will help you any... Good luck.

6 days past my due date, my water broke. That was my "sign". And even then, I still needed pitocin to get things going.

I woke up with lots of bloody show the morning I went into labor & continued to have it all day. (I had DD at 39w1d).

My first sign of impending labor was signing in for my induction. And then I was pretty sure it was coming when they started my pitocin drip. I was almost positive she was coming out when the nurse told me to push.

Does that help you figure out when your baby might be born? HOPE SO!

I had mild contractions (nothing timeable though) the 2-3 days right before my water broke. I went into labor 4 days before my due date, but never had strong contractions, even with pitocin (and as a result, never progressed beyond 2cm and needed a c-section).

Other than the mild Braxton Hicks contractions, I had no other symptoms until my water broke on my way into work that morning!

Why is it all that odd that I'd be interested in personal experiences from other women, rather than clinical checklists with vague and generalized information?

Is it that strange that both my husband and I have a high degree of anxiety, and I'm reaching out to other women who've been there for information and that I find having that information reassuring?

So sorry to those of you I've annoyed. Many thanks to those of you who took a few seconds to provide an answer, it really is helpful to me.

I had no signs except that I was dialated 2cm and 70% effaced at my 37 (at 36w 6d) week appointment. My water broke a few hours after my appointment, but I didn't have any contractions until they started pitocin at the hospital. I delivered DD at 37 weeks exactly. This was my first.
