IL's just invited us over for Easter

They just called to see if we wanted to come over for Easter, um maybe you should have asked a week ago if you wanted us to come over. Dh had to work today, which they were unaware of, and we live over an hour away from them. They sounded disappointed that we couldn't come over, I think they really expected us to run out the door with a baby and come over as soon as they called.

    I guess 'better late than never' doesn't really apply since you can't make it.

    Mine are always last minute people, then seem offended when we already have plans.  Thanksgiving is a big one with this.  My family usually plans like a month in advance, dh's family calls about 2 days before.  Uh, we go through this every year and they still haven't learned.

    My IL's are the exact same way--I'm trying to get used to it. 3 yrs later...still trying.
