    SOPHIA 2nd place

    Yes

    Gabriella, Giuliana, Sophia, Isabella

This should definitely be a clicky poll (you just click on 'poll' to do it)

    1 - Sophia

    2 - Isabella

(don't like the spelling of Giuliana)

  • LOVE Sophia... but it's very popular... I believe it was #2 last year.?

    2nd choice would be Isabella...

We were going to pick Anabella?

  • Giuliana is so pretty :)  I have a love/hate relationship with Isabella.  DD's name is Isabel...which I love, but because Isabella is so popular right now, everyone automatically calls DD Isabella instead of Isabel.  Just something that drives me crazy :)
  • I'm first generation Italian too and speak fluently as well.  MH knew that if we were having a girl they would be Italian names.  We chose Isabella Marie and Sofia Ann (we're spelling it with an F instead of the PH).  I love Giuliana too.

  • I don't like Giuliana because it's way too similar to Rudy Giuliani.

    the other names, i love.

  • Sophia and Juliana are my faves, but I don't like the tradional Italian spelling of Giuliana. Probably b/c I grew up having to constantly say "Alison with only one L..."

I know Sophia is popular, but if it's your fave, go with it. I think it's a great name no matter what age...baby, little girl, adult, etc.

I had crossed Jacob off my list because it was number one for like, 18 years, but DH and I like it so much that I'm considering just going for it!

Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.

yea sofia is italian and sophia is more americanized or (i think...greek origin)...  i just personally liked the spelling better w/ "ph" although everyone is spelling it that way so it would be nice to break free from the rest of the group!

i am kinda leaning toward giuliana~ it's just so different!

  • I like Giuliana the best but I think the spelling will lead to a lot of mispronounciations throughout her life. The other three names are very pretty but are also very popular, which would steer me away from them.

  • I responded to your post on the babynames boards. A big thumbs down on Isabella and Sophia. They are so popular they have become common. They other two are very cute though!

  • Gabriella. And I agree- add a clicky poll! GL. :)

  • i gonna lay my ass out on the line here and admit something that may help:

i'm not sure how to pronounce Giuliana so i don't like it!  all the others are beautiful.

  • Isabella or Sophia... although in italian Sophia is Sofia (my DH is italian, born and raised in Italy and I speak a very fluent italian)!

  • I like them all, but I'd stay away from Giuliana.  It's a beautiful name, and I know it's the traditional Italian spelling, but I think it would be a nightmare for a girl living here in the US.  She would constantly have to spell it, have people mispronounce it, have people tell her it's weird, etc.

  • I like Isabella, but I think it's in the top 5 names right now....might add to confussion in school with 10 different girls with the same name.
  • I really like Sophia or Gabriella
