DD has an ear infection, and refuses to eat any solids now. All she wants is her bottle...Anyone else have this problem? I am afraid she is not going to want them anymore.
We have been through this. She will return to solids when she is ready. No worries! Besides, right not she needs fluids. Our problem with the last ear infection was the opposite.....took solids very well, but refused to nurse, or take a bottle or sippy cup. I had to syringe feed her expressed milk. It was messy and difficult. I was lucky to keep her just hydrated enought to keep her out of the hospital. DD has had to have IV fluids a couple of times Once when she had RSV, once when she had a random fever/virus.
that's totally normal....she'll get back to it when she's better. We're actually having the opposite problem. ds is on his 7th infection and he's been refusing to eat formula during the night and will only take Pedialyte
Oh poor thing, there is nothing worse than having to hold down you DC to make sure they are getting their meds and fluids. Looks like our girls are only 2 days apart! Thanks for the info!
We went through this about a week ago. He would be so excited to eat, get through a bite or two and then be completely miserable. We could do things like pear puree and other very smooth, very watery purees. But I am happy to report that he is back to normal now, eating better than ever. Hang in there!
It was the other way around for us with the ear infection- he wouldn't take the bottle, only solids. But when he had hand, foot & mouth disease he quit solids and only wanted bottle. ?WIth both illnesses, as soon as he was better he went back to his normal eating pattern.
