I'm having buyer's remorse because I don't know how long his new 12-month stuff will last. I'm thinking it will last longer (hopefully) than the earlier sizes. I spent about $450, but that includes everything (bathing suit, hats, socks, onsies long sleeved and short, shirts, pjs, shorts, pants, etc.) because I didn't have one item in that size. Up until this point I had gift clothing. The most I spent was like $150 around X-mas time for 9 month clothes.
So how much do you spend, per size do you think?
Re: How much do you spend on baby clothes?
We haven't spent a lot so far since it's been winter 4ever. But once we need summery outfits, I've set aside $600 for onsies, shoes, hats, jackets etc...b/c we'll need cool & warm clothes at the same time for about 2.5 months. I wish it was either hot or cold!!
It's hard to say because one of my BFFs has a little boy who was born within days of Ben - but 2 years earlier, so she has given me ALL of her stuff. A co-worker of mine has given me a ton of his son's stuff too. All of it has been in great shape. So, I haven't had to buy much.
If you can afford what you bought and think that he will wear all of it, I'd try not to worry about what you spent.
I want to say that I spent about $300-$350 for his 6-9mos stuff. DS has about 12-15 outfits. And I bought 95% of the stuff on clearance from last season. I already bought him stummer stuff probably spent about the same and I have already started to buy for next winter. I'm 3/4 way done with getting his 12-18mos stuff, just need a few more things.
I haven't had to spend a whole lot at all, to be honest. My niece is 6 months older than DD so i've been getting tubs and tubs of outgrown clothes... I also do still have clothing that we received as gifts.
The clothes that I do buy, though, are all either on clearance, on sale at the outlets, or bought with gift cards or money I saved from selling her old clothes on ebay.
I probably haven't spent more than $200 total since she was born.
