TTC After a Loss

What is the "q-tip" test?

I don't know if I want to know, but I'm curious!

Re: What is the "q-tip" test?

  • You stick a q-tip in your "ya-hoo" and see if it comes back brown (old blood) or red (new blood)

Sometimes you can swab your cervix with a Qtip and be able to tell a day early if AF is coming. It worked for me in cycle #1 TTCAL, did not work at all last cycle... I had nothing but creamy CM up until AF showed up for real.?
  • And that will be an indicator if AF is on her way? What if there is no blood? I mean, will I def. have old or new blood?  Sorry - that sounds like such a dumb question when I re read it!!!
  • Yeah, it'll let you know if AF is within a few hours of making her arrival. I was a "Q-tip" virgin until I was desperate in the neverending cycle from hell last month! :)
  • There shouldnt be blood unless AF is on her way, unless its implantation. Generally if you see it on the q-tip you will know for sure that day...
