What do you do for a living? Middle School English Teacher (Do NOT judge my grammar... I'm on my break!!)
Was this pregnancy planned? Kind of - we had been trying for so long (4 1/2 years) that we had all but given up, so we weren't expecting it at all. I guess the natropathic fertility treatments I was doing really worked!!
How far along are you? 13 weeks today
Have you been pregnant before? No
What was your first clue that you were pregnant? I had just started charting again and my BBT stayed elevated, I spotted 7 days after I O'd, and my period was a day late when I took the test.
Who did you tell first? My husband, then my friend (who is also my doctor), then my parents... all on the first day!
What has been the best thing about this pregnancy so far? Knowing there is a tiny little person living inside me...
What has been the toughest thing about this pregnancy so far? My body changing... not a fan of weight gain and the bloat makes me look like a cow!!
What is one thing you miss doing/having from prepregnancy? One thing, HA! I miss my jeans, horseback riding, eating whatever I want, staying up late enough to watch Grey's Anatomy, alcohol, and being skinny!
Anything you regret doing before you knew you were pregnant? Yes!! The two nights out in Seattle with co-workers (two BIG drinks), dental x-rays, and the massive muscle relaxer I took when I threw out my back.
Do you have any pregnancy pet peeves? Yes!! Random people touching my stomach and unwanted advice.
Have you had morning sickness? YES!! It was horrid but it faded around 11 weeks and hasn't come back (so far!).
Have you felt any movement yet? Still to early but I can't wait!!
What is your biggest fear about labor? I have lots of fears about labor - pooping on the table, tearing, passing out (I pass out easily when I'm in pain), something going wrong and having to do a c-section, my family not being there when I deliever, going into preterm labor...
Are you going to try and find out if it's a boy or girl? Have you already found out? We are going to try but we don't get our big u/s until 21 weeks... ::le sigh:: feels like FOREVER away!
Do you have names picked out yet? What are they? We aren't decided by any means but we like Addison Kristine or Alana Kristine for a girl and Conner Jason or Chace Allen for a boy.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a newly pregnant woman? You aren't the first pregnant person in the world - for the most part, everything you experience is normal. Every pregnancy is different so what your best friend went through probably won't apply to you. When in doubt read a book or call your doctor.

What has been the best thing about this pregnancy so far? Knowing that we get to be parents at the end of this journey
What has been the toughest thing about this pregnancy so far? Fearing a m/c - so many friends and people on here have been through it, and it terrifies me.

Do you have names picked out yet? What are they? Of course we haven't sat down and discussed this in detail yet, but in past casual conversations we like Brenna Kate for a girl and Blake Alexander for a boy.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a newly pregnant woman? Enjoy each day of the pregnancy, and don't fear every little cramp or lack of symptoms. I love the mantra I've seen on some of the boards - "Today I am pregnant and I love my baby."

What was your first clue that you were pregnant? My temps stayed high 12 days after ovulation, so I tested!

I happened to have an appointment about an hour after BFP. After that, our parents.
What has been the best thing about this pregnancy so far? Our families are SO excited, and that makes me even more thrilled to add a little person to the world
What has been the toughest thing about this pregnancy so far? I had a bleeding scare 2 weeks ago, and now I'm petrified of every ache and pain
What is one thing you miss doing/having from prepregnancy? Well, it's March Madness, so it's hard not to have a beer when we go out to watch games!

What is one piece of advice you would give to a newly pregnant woman? If you have a bleeding scare and go in for an early u/s, make sure they take betas too! You might not see a heartbeat yet (this was my experience and I've passed it on numerous times already).

What has been the toughest thing about this pregnancy so far? I'm diabetic and being pregnant and diabetic is not an easy thing. I knew I would be on insulin, but knowing and actually having to stick yourself are two different things.

What is your biggest fear about labor? I fear that this time I won't make it to the hospital in time to get an epidural. I was induced with my first and it was only 7.5 hours from time of induction to time of birth. Pretty fast for a first!

What is one piece of advice you would give to a newly pregnant woman? Try and relax and enjoy the pg. Even at the end, enjoy it, even though you are terribly uncomfortable. Once you have that baby, your whole world changes (in a good way, but it changes!).

What was your first clue that you were pregnant? A bunch of different symptoms including feeling hungerover when I didn't drink at all the night before.

What has been the toughest thing about this pregnancy so far? The b*tch factor. I have been really moody- poor bf.
What is one thing you miss doing/having from prepregnancy? Casual drinks after work, or drinks on a really nice day, this summer is going to be tough. Not to mention I won't be able to eat crabs all summer- I live in MD it's like torture!!

Do you have any pregnancy pet peeves? I get annoyed even easier than I did before- so everything pretty much annoys me.

I was a day late and the weekend was coming up so I took a spare pregnancy test that I had lying around on a whim so that I could see if I could drink that weekend w/o wondering...I totally expected it to come back negative, but then I saw the two lines...
Who did you tell first? My husband and then my coworker the next morning so I had someone to cover for me when I went to the dr.
What has been the best thing about this pregnancy so far? The idea that we'll have a bundle of joy joining our family.
What has been the toughest thing about this pregnancy so far? the weight gain has been really hard. i'm sort of weight conscious and to constantly feel gigantic has been a struggle. i just have to keep reminding myself that it's for the health of the baby!

What is one thing you miss doing/having from prepregnancy? Being able to sleep like a normal person. I have horrible insomnia now. And I miss bar hopping and drinking and partying. (If it helps, I do own a production company... so I get paid to party)

What has been the best thing about this pregnancy so far? Growing my family. I'm so excited for another LO.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a newly pregnant woman? You'll find all kinds of wonderful advice on the boards, but don't take it all as gospel. Trust your body, trust your instincts, listen to your medical provider, remember to take lots of belly pictures, spend time with your husband, and indulge yourself every now & again. It's worth it.

What was your first clue that you were pregnant? I was 11 days late, and while my cycle was screwy from going off the pill, I knew 11 days and no cramps or bloating was just odd. Took a test - positive, then took another because I was in disbelief. :-)
Who did you tell first? My husband! I came running out of bathroom with the test in my hand yelling "Oh my god!" We couldn't contain ourselves so we traveled back home to tell our parents and brothers and sister.
What has been the best thing about this pregnancy so far? The excitement of it all, and seeing how happy our parents, friends and family are for us.
What has been the toughest thing about this pregnancy so far? Being hungry all of the time! I feel like I'm constantly eating or drinking.

What is one thing you miss doing/having from prepregnancy? Well, our annual St. Patrick's Day party was last weekend, so it kinda sucked having to be sober for that, but other than that, not too much.

I had weight loss surgery over a year ago and they warned me that I would be "FERTILE MYRTLE" when I went off the pill and had lost 165#'s They were correct.

I care but I don't want to hear about it. I want her to do her job and leave the personal stuff at the door. Maybe I'm cold hearted. If she told me briefly about her u/s or showed me the pics that would be one thing. But the leaky nipples, and mucus...I will experience that on my own. OVER SHARING

What is one thing you miss doing/having from prepregnancy? I miss drinking diet coke.
Anything you regret doing before you knew you were pregnant? Not that I can remember.
Do you have any pregnancy pet peeves? when people asked if we planned the baby, or when people pretend they know what your pregnancy is like.
Have you had morning sickness? Oh yeah, It is starting to go away, now it is mainly at night before bed.
Have you felt any movement yet? Nope, I will be psyched when I can though.
What is your biggest fear about labor? something going wrong with me or the baby. Stupid dramatic movies putting ideas in my head about dying during birth
Are you going to try and find out if it's a boy or girl? Have you already found out? Oh man I cannot wait. I have two nephews and my sister in law is pregnant and having a girl in August. I would love to have a girl.
Do you have names picked out yet? What are they? We have a few possible names, for a girl Penelope, for a boy Philip.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a newly pregnant woman? Feel free to obssess about everything, I mean how frequently will you be pregnant.

What has been the toughest thing about this pregnancy so far? No complaints so far. havent really been sick or gained any wieght at all so im good for right now

What is one piece of advice you would give to a newly pregnant woman? Read read research research... become friends with your dr.. not everyone is the same.. and not each pregnancy you go thru is the exact same. Google and books are your friends

What is one thing you miss doing/having from prepregnancy? Having energy. Certain foods. I'm still teaching spinning but had to give up a class and can't go over 140 bpm, I hardly break a sweat!
Anything you regret doing before you knew you were pregnant? I drank a bunch, celebrated my bday out on the town, and we celebrated Valentine's Day with raw oysters and a bottle of wine..
