Jergens Natural Glow Lotion....okay to use?

I am itching to get SOME color on my skin and used to use Jergens Natural Glow lotion in the winter months.

Does anyone know if this is taboo during pregnancy?  I know regular self tanners are generally a no-no, but this somehow seems less harmful?

Re: Jergens Natural Glow Lotion....okay to use?

  • Does the lotion try to active the melanocytes in your skin (the cells that make your skin tan when you are outdoors)?  If it does, then I wouldn't use it.  Women who expose themselves to tanning can get melasma (darkened spots due to a combo of hormones and sun exposure).  These spots can be permanent in some cases.

  • I use it, my dr said it's fine
  • I wouldn't - too many freaky chemicals in stuff like that.
  • It's fine.  I've used it regularly since I was diagnosed with skin cancer, even during pregnancy.  Self tanners are okay, too.  I'd ask your OB just to make sure, but I give you my personal guarantee that Jergens Natural Glow is safe and works well during pregnancy!  My LO and I are doing just fine.
