Maybe stupid question...sorry

My friend's daughter has her one month appointment tomorrow and doesn't have a ride so she was going to miss it. I would hate for her to miss it and I would be more than happy to take her, but our car seat base is right in the middle of the backseat (NO way I'm taking that freaking thing out-soo hard to get right in the first place!). Anyway, my question is: would she be able to put her carseat on either side of mine? My gut says no, but I'm not sure and I'd really like to be able to take her...TIA
