toddler holds liquids in mouth won't swallow!

DS is driving me crazy. He started to hold whatever beverage he is drinking in his mouth for 20 min or less and then ends up spitting all of it out all over himself, the floor where ever, when he can't hold it in his mouth any longer. I tell him to swallow, I tried ignoring it, nothing is working. I'm tired of cleaning up his messes and worrying about his teeth. Help!

    He holds it in his mouth for 20 minutes!?? I'm guessing you meant seconds. lol If not, dang that's a long time!

    I don't know how long he's been doing this but my son did it for a week and has now moved on to something else (chewing his food and then letting it dribble out) aaahh!

    Hopefully he'll out grow this. Try not to give it too much attention - perhaps he likes your reaction. GL
