We've always used blankets in his crib. When ds was in the NICU they'd pile 4 or 5 of them on top of him to help keep his body temp up. When he came home in the dead of winter at 4 lbs-ish, we continued to use them for body temp reasons. We never stopped using them. Now he sleeps with a sleep sack and 2-3 thick blankets every night.

We have been using blankets for two months now. They are crocheted so air can get through. I also tucked them into the sides of the crib and kept it below the waist at first. Now they are OK with the blanket untucked.
