i just laugh, cause she doesnt wanna e identified. yet her mom said her FULL name.. so, dont you think itll get out soon.. ahaha.. bet Jon & Kate are sihtting their pants
I heard that this morning. I wonder if she is going to be another duggar family. Plus they said on the news this morning, they do not know who the dad is? I thought she was married?
one of my coworkers was saying she is unmarried, lives with parents in small house, and got pregnant w/octuplets using a clomid-like drug.....I dont know how much of that is true. I am all for people making their own family planning choices but what the hell was she thinking???
Can we all say together - Tie you freiking tubes lady!!
Um, sounds like it's actually simplter than that: she just needs to stay out of her RE's office. This was preventable. I'm having a very, very, very difficult time seeing this as a 'miracle'. The miracle is that noone died as a result of reckless medical intervention that it took to even get pregnant with 8 babies at the same time. The next miracle will be if they can all be cared for appropriately...and preferably without governmental support. This was no accident.

We were talking about this on our local board yesterday and one of the girls who had IVF said that there is basically no way that any reputable Dr. would transfer that many embryos. More likely she was on Clomid or a similar drug and wasn't properly monitored for over-stimulation.

Ditto. I'm going to be really surprised if it's not Clomid (or something similar.)
I still don't think it's as crazy as the Dugger lady. She had most of hers one at a time! I'm sure this woman wasn't planning on octuplets!
Yeah but she had to have known there was a chance of multiples, and she already had 6! Who says to themselves, "You know, I can't have any more kids on my own, but 6 kids really aren't enough for me. I think I'll take fertility drugs to have a 7th."
whoah. how can they afford to raise so many children?!?!??
"Develop an interest in life as you see it; in people, things, literature, music -- the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls, and interesting people. Forget yourself." - Henry Miller
Hey I was talking to one of the NICU docs about this and she said that the American College of Gyno is trying to band implanting more than 2 embryos at one time for this exact reason. She said that no doctor in their right mind would do that, and it was probably fertility drugs instead of IVF.
Either way-whack job party of 1,...plus 14 your table is now ready.

Agreed. We've been discussing this at some length on the SAIF board, too. I don't think any doctor would transfer that many embryos. The usual number of embryos transferred is one or two or maybe three if you have a poor prognosis. Someone who's already had six kids indicating that she can get pregnant most likely would have only one embryo transferred. She was eating Clomid like candy with no monitoring...
The storey I read stated that she doesn't have a DH and is a single mother living with her parents. And I totally agree about the irresponsibility on her part and that of the fertility Dr.
I guess six wasn't enough for that single mom. Wow and now her dad is going to Iraq to support them all. SAD SAD SAD! They will come out to the media just wait! They have said enough already for not wanting their lives made public.
I don't understand why it's a "bad" thing for a woman to have as many children as she wants. It pisses me off that people can be so judgmental about it. It's her decision, right? Aren't we all about choice?
If anyone is to be judged, it should be the doctor for not implanting only two embryos at a time.

Our bodies aren't meant to carry that many children at a time. Because of the high risk of premature birth, many sextuplets, septuplets, octoplets babies either don't make it or are born with birth defects and learning disorders. At that point it is not fair to the children. If the mother wants to be like the Duggar family go ahead but to me this is different and I choose to be judgmental about it. If this was something that happened on accident I would understand more but from everything I have read this mother would have almost had to have gone against Doctor's advice.
I would have no issues if she was responsible with this decision however clearly she was not. She has 6 children which in its self is hard to provide for and now she has 14, how does she expect to be able to provide for these children?... point is she cant she will get Govt assistance so shes not providing for these children but WE the PEOPLE are, now that is F-ed up. If my taxes have to pay for these children why didnt I get a say if she should be able to have these kids? Why don't people have any issue with the Duggars is beacuse they can proivde for all those kids.
Re: Can you believe the lady with octuplets already had
thats fvcking insane.
ps i want to be in those pictures with you!!!!!!!! i need a vacation, now.

Dit to the to.

I believe it is her Mother's husband that is leaving for Iraq. I have heard that she isn't married.
