3rd ultrasound

Hi ladies! I'm nervous again about size difference after today. Last week at 6w3d both babies had heartbeats and baby b had caught up in size measuring 6w2d (was just 5w the week before). Today baby b was just 6w5d so it didn't appear to grow much in a week. Heart rate was 134. Baby a measured 7w3d with a heart rate of 163. Has anyone else had such differences like these where everything turned out ok?

Re: 3rd ultrasound

  • Remember that the measurement is not an exact science, especially when they are really little.  I have identical twins, where a size difference is more concerning, and I've had tons of ultrasounds now -- the measurements are a little different every time.  The furthest apart that mine have measured was 5 days and that was completely unconcerning to my doctors (more recently, they've been 2-3 days apart).  Presumably, you have fraternal twins, where a size difference is less concerning, and a heart rate of 134 at 7 weeks sounds really good to me.

    Try not to worry!
