I am 11w4d today and went to the ER last night with a gush of heavy red bleeding. They found the babies looking good, heartbeats of 158 and 163. I have an SCH 3.68 x 0.77 x 2.9 cm. No idea what this translates to. Everything i am reading shows SCH's earlier and resolving within first tri. I'm not reading good endings with later first tri SCH's?
Anyone go through this? Advice? Wisdom? Ideas?
Thank you!
Re: Anyone deal with an SCH? (11weeks)
As hard as it is try not to stress yourself out. Relax, rest when you can and drink lots of water!
Hang in there - SCH's are scary business. I had two bleeds, the second one being HUGE (think heaviest day of TOM). I thought it was over for sure. My bleeding lasted for 4 weeks (12-16). For two of those my doctor put me on bed rest and demanded I drank tons of water. I know that not all doctors will do bed rest - but I really think that it is what made the difference. Before the bed rest I was bleeding and about 2 days after being on it the bleeding turned to spotting, which eventually turned to nothing. At the end of the bed rest the SCH was virtually undetectable on the u/s.
If you can, put your feet up as much as possible and stay hydrated!! GL!!
Oh yes!! I had a big bleed at 10 weeks that sent me to the ER. There they found that both babies looked great but there was a very large (10x6x4 cm) SCH hanging out with them.
It is very scary! I was on bed rest for 2 weeks after the big bleed and then I had lots of brown spotting (and some small brown gushing) for 9 weeks. I haven't had any bleeding in about 6 weeks now and at my last 2 u/s they had a lot of trouble finding it, it's gotten so small. After the 2 week bed rest I was told to take it easy, and out on pelvic rest.
I am now almost 26 weeks and the babies are doing great! I'm still being watched closely but none of my doctors (OB and MFM) seems to be worried at all now. It's very scary but more often than not they resolve themselves, just take it one day at a time I'm sorry you're dealing with a nasty SCH.
Thank you. Can't wait to talk to the mfm tomorrow
