Stroller help

The one thing I don't actually know exactly what type I want yet is a stroller. My husband's best friend got an Uppa Baby for their baby and love it, and now my husband thinks we have to get one of those too. Um, no thanks. The only way I'll pay $800 for a stroller is if it's motorized and I can ride too!
Any recommendations? We live in a small apartment, so it seems smart to get some sort of car seat/stroller combo, but I'm sort of confused. And entirely overwhelmed by the options. I want something mid-range priced, light but sturdy (we are urban dwellers, and will tromp around the city a lot with a stroller).

Re: Stroller help

  • I got the Chicco KeyFit for our DS with the travel lite stroller. It has been fabulous! The stroller works with the infant seat As well as just a normal stroller when they grow out of the infant seat. It is light, easy to use, durable, and affordable. It is not great for off-roading though :-)

  • I got the Britax B-Agile travel system. I read great reviews on it & got a great deal, so I couldn't pass it up when I looked at it last week. The infant car seat easily snaps in & out, & it's easy to fold up. Obviously I haven't tried it out with baby yet (lol), but DH & I are happy with our purchase. :)

  • I suggest checking out lucieslist.com she has lots of reviews on all different types of strollers. It's definitely a difficult decision!

  • I bought the Uppa Baby because DH and I plan on having kids close in age so I didn't want to buy a double after spending a couple hundred on a single. My sister bought a single, a jogger, a click and go for the car seat and then wound up buying a new stroller with baby #2 anyway- didn't want to follow that path.

Also, the Uppa Baby car seat has a 6 year warranty instead of the usual 5 so I'm hoping to get all 2-3 kids in that for their first year or so.

It is definitely expensive (I actually got a good deal & counted it as my x-mas present) but I think it's worth it.

Granted, I'm only 14 weeks along so I may hate using it when we have kids and be totally screwed.

  • We bought the Eddie Bauer travel system and it is super easy to pop the bucket seat in and out of. Not difficult to fold up but isn't the smallest thing so you'll want to be sure you have somewhere to put it. It fit in the trunk of our small cobalt when we had it so trunk space isn't too big of an issue.

Check out the Chicco Keyfit Caddy Stoller Frame. We used it with our Chicco Keyfit 30 bucket seat, and it was a dream. By the time DD grew out of the car seat, she was big enough for a small umbrella stoller.

If you want high quaility, but not too expensive I HIGHLY recommend the Snugli Stroller. It's comparable to Uppa baby but like 1/2 the price!

*It does forward and rear facing, and has a great recline for newborns. I LOVE mine

  • I highly recommend going to a place like Buy Buy baby and trying them out. If you have one close to you. They have all price points and tons of different ones on the floor for you to try. It helped us a lot when we were trying to decide.

  • I got the city mini
  • For the people who have a city mini, is it a pain to try and find the adapter kit to be able to use a car seat with it? This looks like a great system and easy to push/fold up & lightweight. Thanks in advance for the responses.

The adapter was really easy to find and also really easy to use.

  • We have the Geaco snug fit travel system. I love it! Of all the things we've bought, my husband likes Graco the best because they are so easy to use and put together.

Not to high jack the thread but does anyone have preferences for sit and stand double strollers?
  • We had a snap and go for the first year that worked with our infant car seat and it was great. We also have a BOB jogger and it's huge and a pain in the ass. We bought a $50 umbrella stroller from Amazon - first years Jet stroller - and that's all we use. It's light, easy to fold, durable. We have taken it to Europe, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Wildwood, etc. and it's held up with no problems. We love it. More money does not equal better.
