Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Teething

Hello!  I am more of a newbie/lurker...I haven't posted hardly at all.  My question is how many of you are going through the teething stage?  Is it normal to not have much of an appetite during this stage?  When she is at daycare (7am-5pm) she usually has 3-4 bottles, last few days she's only had 2 while at daycare.  My lil one is almost 6 months old and has had loss of appetite the last few days and will drink an oz or two then whine and try drinking more and whine some more...keeps doing that then just doesn't want to eat.  I am thinking she may be starting to get teeth and her gums are sore.  I will be starting the teething tablets when she seems to be really uncomfortable.

Re: Teething

  • It's funny you ask this, because I was just wondering this! DD's bottom 2 teeth are suddenly about to break through today, and she was slightly fussier yesterday and ate less, and has been only eating 2 oz at a time today. I'm guessing it's the teething.

  • It could be teething or an ear infection. my son, now 2, went through a phase where he didnt want to take a bottle because the suction hurt his ears. Just a thought! Also, it could be an upset belly. I know Hylands makes Camilia drops for teething. they have camomille in them to help settle her belly. its a pre-measured liquid. you just screw the top off and let them drink it. Good luck!
  • We haven't been through the loss of appetite, but definitely went through the fussiness. His two top I-teeth started coming in when he was only 2 months. We got an amber bead necklace and it seems to help A LOT!
