which is the coldest room in your home?

The coldest room in our house is mine and DH's bedroom. He doesn't mind b/c he is always warm and I don't mind b/c we have a down comforter. :-)  I would rather our room be cold than the boys'.

Re: which is the coldest room in your home?

  • we have the heat turned way up (set to 75) so the house is not cold at all. but the coldest is probably ds's room. we have a portable heater in our room too. im ok with ds room being the coldest because he never stays their the whole night anyways, always jumps in with mommy and daddy.

  • The 3rd bedroom upstairs that doesn't have a heat vent.  I keep it closed off with a blanket as it doesn't have a door.  It is freezing up there.

We just moved in late July and have to get doors for the bedrooms upstairs.  We live in a cape cod.

  • Finn's room. It's north-facing and gets practically no solar heat during the day, and it's an icebox at night. DH finally convinced me to let him put a space heater in there (it's one of the new ones, and very safe) and I also bundle him up really well.

Our whole house is pretty cold at night, though. We keep the upstairs thermostat set at 65 and the downstairs at 60. Right now I'm wearing a fleece robe, long fleece pants, slippers and  blanket, and I still feel chilly.

  • We live in a townhouse and the neighbors just moved out this past week and turned the heat off.

Soooo, the coldest room is the entire downstairs. I am absolutely freeeeeezing right now.

  • It is our room too. It was added on, and it doesn't have good heat runs too it. We close our bedroom door so DS doesn't go in there and it gets pretty chilly in there this time of year. The other day it was 51* when I went to go to bed!! Thank goodness for a down comforter!

  • Sadly DD's room is the coldest, due to crappy windows and it's the SE room in the house. Which is why we have the heat turned up and she still sleeps in a sleepsack.
  • DS's room is the coldest room in the house in the winter and the hottest in the summer. The windows in our house suck, but the one in DS's room is the worst. We've tried weather stripping and it hasn't really done too much. It's also the room furthest from the furnace, so the heat or a/c output from the vent is pretty weak.
