heart rates

I have one twin who always has a faster fetal heart rate than the other. But, last night I was listening with my home Doppler and it seemed really fast. My Doppler doesn't always get the bpm correct, but it did reach 171. It slowed down later, but is consistently in the 160s when the other is closer to 150. I'm 17 wks tomorrow. Should I be concerned? I know the average heart rate is anywhere from 120160....

I don't think there is reason for concern if it went back down to a "normal" rate. When we went in for our ultrasounds, one or both of the babies would have a higher heart beat randomly because of the activity he/she was doing. If you're really worried, call the OB.

My boys often had rates in the 170s. Later in the pregnancy, they slowed down to 150s and would go up with activity. Like PP mentioned, if you are worried you can always contact your OB. However, based on my experience, I would assume all is well.

I went Tuesday, and mine were 167 and 165 and he said that was great. I wouldn't worry.  I am sure it changes here and there.

So even close to 17 wks yours were in the 170s? I had an appt last week and my OB mentioned that the 160s was a little fast, but it will probably slow down. I just got nervous hearing it so fast last night and of course Dr Google doesn't help much!

I just pulled out an ultrasound from 17w and one of the boys had a HR of 173. The other was 150. All was well!

I remember being a little worried about faster HRs and the internet doesn't help with that. I know it's really hard, but STEP AWAY FROM Dr. GOOGLE!!! LO just might be a wild LO .

Lol! Thanks! This makes me feel better! I will step away from Dr Google. For now anyway...
