Can u Potty Train @ Night?

Is there such a thing as teaching your kids to stay dry at night? My daughter is 27 months and still wakes up soaked in the a.m. Occasionally she'll be dry after a nap, but rarely. Is this something they just figure out? Or can you somehow train them to not go at night?

You could wake her up before you go to bed to go potty if you want to try that (I wouldn't-- I wouldn't want to risk waking her up) but many MANY kids aren't night trained for years. So I wouldn't worry about it.

I was wondering the same thing.  DS has been trained during the day for about a year, but nights I never gave much thought; that's the only time he wears a diaper. I don't think there's really any way to do it, I just assumed at some point he'll start waking up dry (or waking up to go).  I used to have to put a diaper on him for naps, too, but then he started waking up dry and very quickly never needed a diaper again, so I assumed the same would happen with nights.

If she is completely potty trained during the day but keeps waking up soaked then she is not ready to be diaper-free at night. That is something developmental, not something you can train. You can test her by not putting anything on during sleep time and see if she pees herself. Some kids just pee because they know the diaper is on. But chances are at 27months she still is too young to hold it in during sleep. Her bladder has to signal her brain to wake up and realize she has to go, that is something that comes with age. I have heard that kids just need to out grow night wetting. My son is 2.5 years old and has been potty trained since about 22 months. However at night he still wears a pull up. He will wake up dry about 70% of the time. He goes to the bathroom right before bed but if he has been drinking a lot before and after dinner he still may wet his pull-up. I'm not one to "cut off" drinks at a certain time at night because if he is thirsty, he's thirsty.

No, you cannot potty train at night. Kids will start waking up dry when their physiologically ready. "Bed wetting" isn't considered a problem until 6-7 years.
