Car Seat - help!

Please help.  My mom, who watches DD 2x a week, has a lot of issues in her hand due to nerve damage and arthritis.  Make a long story short, she couldn't get DD out of her car seat yesterday because she couldn't put the pressure needed on the button to release the straps.  This scares us a lot because would've happened if DH wasn't home to get her out of the car.  So now we don?t know what to do because my mom needs to take her to therapy, etc.  Are there any car seats that have push down release buttons (like a seat belt)?  Any other ideas?  DD is 27 months, 34 inches and 33 pounds.  Thank you!
