Siezure monitors?

Unfortunately, we are in need of monitors because DD had a few seizures on Friday.  I kind of knew this might happen, but it was the scariest night of my life!  

 

Does anyone have the angel care movement monitor?  Thoughts?  Any other recommendations?  Thank you!

I am very interested in hearing what others have to say. We just started dealing with seizures for my youngest. We have had some happen at night and want to be alerted when they start. We have even tossed around the idea of getting a seizure dog.

I have entertained that idea as well.  My husband does not like dogs, but this would be so helpful!  I know they make specific monitors for epilepsy, but they are $500!

This is hard.  We have video monitors set up on each of the boys as they have seizures when they are sleeping.  I know it sounds odd, but I've always "felt" their seizures and looked at the monitors in time to get to them, see it happening.  But most of their seizures are within an hour or 2 of going to sleep and sometimes they cough first so often I'm awake or at least just laying in bed.  The video is hooked to our phones so we can watch them even if we aren't home (i.e. MIL puts them down for nap).  We use D-link video monitors.  It definitely doesn't sense movement... I'd have to hear something amiss or look at the monitor.  My kids also vomit when they seize so I hear that.

Im interested if these kinds of monitors pick up more silent kind of seizures. My daughter had seizure activity during her EEG while asleep and she had no signs anything was amiss. I've felt seizure meds helped as she's not spacing out and unresponsive during an enjoyable activity anymore but it worries me that I don't really know if she's truly seizure free since they're so brief and easy to miss.
