Drinking and 2ww

It's been 2 years so I can't remember. Is a glass of wine completely off the table at this point? Of course I don't want to chance anything but I am going to see family out of state for the 4th and I don't want to have to explain myself while everyone is drinking. Last thing I want to do is tell anyone I am going through treatments again especially if it's a long process again. Nothing worse then having to talk about what your going through to those who don't understand. Does everyone avoid alchole all together during the 2ww? Thanks ladies!

It is such a personal decision. I never drank during a treatment cycle. I didn't want to have anything I could look back on if it didn't work and think, "What if?" You could always do the beer bottle trick. Pour out the beer, fill it with water, and drink the water. I am sure you will get responses from other ladies here saying they did drink during the 2ww. You just have to figure out what is right for you. GL!

Thank you! I don't think I drank last time because by the time I got to SG and spent so much money due to not having fertility coverage I didn't want to take a chance anything. But I feel I am in a completely different place this time around. This is my first cycle and I also want to be as relaxed as possible this time and not put so much pressure on this cycle in case it doesn't work out.

In general I would drink til it's pink, because I don't get trashed on the regular anyway so whatever I was consuming wasn't much anyhow. I did stop drinking the last several treatment cycles, but that's because I read that it can help 'sway' your odds of having a girl.

I never did, until the cycle I got pregnant (ironically). We had cancelled our IUI because my u/s showed "no response" (which turned into late response). So we went on vacation with 3 other couples and had lots of wine the whole week. And then we brought home 40+ bottles of wine from that trip too - we like wine and we were in MI wine country.

I did (whoopsies).  But similar to Queenbone, I don't really ever drink to get "trashed" anyway.  We were on a volleyball league and I had two beers the night before I found out I was pregnant.  Then my second baby was a total surprise BFP and I know I had a lot more than 2 beers before finally finding out I was pg with him (but again, it was probably like a glass of wine one night, a beer another night, etc).  Our third was also a surprise BFP and I'm pretty sure I had a glass of wine or two somewhere in that two week span before actually finding out I was pregnant.  

What I have always done after knowing I was pregnant but not wanting to tell yet was order a virgin bloody mary or a virgin margarita.  You'll fly under the radar.  Worked for me every time!

Thank you!!! Well a glass of wine never hurt anyone so I guess I'll be having a glass before a know. But again if this cycle works I won't be drinking once I know!

i drank in the 2ww with both my pregnancies. the first pregnancy was my IVF and i was in sonoma during my 2ww. i didn't go nuts, but i did taste some wine.  my 2nd pregnancy was unplanned, so i had no idea it was my "2ww" and had wine with dinner (more than once). i am never an over-indulger so i was never drunk, but i did have alcohol.
