Bruising very easily

I am 14.5 weeks with second LO and today I had my chin resting on the couch cushion for about a minute. When I went to the bathroom right after I noticed that I have a red splotchy bruise there on my chin. I normally bruise fairly easily but never from something like the couch! I read that some women have thrombocytopenia when pregnant (less platelets than normal). I plan to ask the OB when I go next week but i wonder if any of you ever experienced something similar? TIA
