Angel care monitor

Hi!
Also posted in my BMB ...
Don't post too much, but lurk daily and learn so much from your recommendations and advice!

Just curious if anyone is using the angelcare monitor and how it is working for you. My SIDS anxiety decreased a bit after our initial weeks home, but now that LO is rolling on to his belly to sleep, I am so anxious that I am getting NOOOO sleep. I purchased an angelcare online, and am just wondering about false alarms. Also, can a fan be running/music or white noise be playing in the nursery or does the sensor read that as movement?

Really hoping this works for us...would like to move LO in to his crib at night.

I LOVE the angel care monitor. I've used[am using] it with both my boys.

It has different sensitivity levels that you will have to play around with to prevent false alarms. I had it on the highest setting [or the lowest? I'm not sure what order they go in] and I noticed it did pick up the fan, this was with my first. Changed the level around and zero problems after that.
I have kept it on that setting for my second. In the past three months that he has been in his crib, we have had one false alarm on that setting. He had moved all the way to the side and I think just was way off the sensor pad.

We also have a sleep sheep that sits in the crib and haven't had any issues with that.

You can always test the level out by putting whatever in the crib or running the fan and not have LO in the crib. The alarm will sound if it doesn't pick those movements up [which is good] or it won't and you will know to adjust the level. Takes 3 minutes!!

I have one and I LOVE it. Even better, DH and I routinely forget to turn the monitor off when we pick up DS which makes the alarm go off. We get a few tests of the monitor a day that way, so we know it would work right if (God forbid) DS were to stop breathing. It gives me great peace of mind to know that we have something in place to alert us if that were to happen. It has allowed me to actually sleep the nights DS decides he wants to as well. :)

We've had it since day one, and I love it.  Like the pp we often forget to turn it off when we take DS out of the crib, but other than those self-imposed false alarms we've only had one.  DS scooted all the way to the far corner of the bed and the alarm went off.  That little scare was worth the peace of mind that the alarm gives me.

We bought an angelcare monitor like 5 days after coming home from the hospital! I LOVE it! My little guy sleeps in a pack n play in my room with white noise on an old radio turned all the way up. No false alarms for us so far. You just have to play around with the sensitivity!
