The name of my cashier today. Her name is pronounced Fate. I don't think I would want to be named Fate. Even less so if it were spelled this way.

Oh my, that is terrible!  I've never heard of a Fate (or Fait!) before.  Do parents just not even consider all the tormenting some names will elicit??

I had a student with this name one year, but it was spelled Fay.ht. I'm still convinced her parents were going for Fayth and it got misspelled and they just didn't fix it.
