I think so, but Nora is rising fast. I've always wanted to use Nora because it is the only family name I love, but I don't want my daughter to be one of 10 in her class.
Both are fairly popular. Addison a little more than Nora, for now. Since Addison was popular for the last decade. Nora is becoming super popular too though. However, according to the SSA database for last year Addison is #14 and Nora isn't even in the top 100. I'd go with Nora.
ETA Nora is 107. So it's really really close to the top 100 and probably is in a lot of states. My name in my birth year was not in the top 50, but I still had 2-4 Andrea's in each class.
Addison is beginning to decline after being mega popular, while I think Nora is going to be a top name over the next few years. I would personally choose Nora because Addison is more NMS.
Nora is so much prettier than Addison. Plus Addison means son of Adam, so it's all boy to me. If you're looking to hop on the Addie nn trend you could go with Adrienne, Adriana, Adeline, Adele, Adalyn or Adelaide.
I hate it when people cite Addison's disease as a reason to not use the name. It's insulting to me as a scientist. Addison is the name of the incredibly talented and insightful doc who was able to classify the sx that plagued so many and this improve dx and tx. That's something I would be proud to name a child after, and not say ew, its a disease!
OP, I think Addison is more popular than Nora right now, but IMO its prettier.
Based on the SSA stats and my experience with children, Addison is much more popular. IMO Nora is a classic that will not sound dated in a few years, and it's much more feminine and appealing. I don't like Addison as a girl name, even though the Addisons my DD has known have been very sweet.
DD born 10/10/07 * DS born 11/25/11 * #3 due 3/9/2015
I think Addison (and all its variants) is just awful. It's a boy's name and I wouldn't name my daughter something with -son in it. Nora isn't my style but I sure prefer it over Addison.
Nora Sage is much prettier than Addison, IMO. Addison is a popular choice for little girls lately, but I don't see the appeal at all. I personally know three Addisons, all 3 years old, and they all go by Addie. I also agree that Nora is more timeless, whereas Addison is more trendy.
In my area, Addison is way more popular, and veering more towards the trendy side. I know 3 little Addies and no Noras, although I know in many areas it is climbing fast.

This. I like Nora despite it's popularity but I don't like Addison and it seems like one of those names that will feel dated in about 10 years.

Addison, Addisyn, Addasynn and other ridiculous variants are super popular in my area. I find this incredibly weird as Addison is a local suburb.

This. I think of Addison as trendy, Nora is a classic.
Addison is a boy's name. It ends in "-son". Plus there are a million little girls being called "Addie" or "Maddie" right now. YUCK.
Nora is beautiful. And timeless. Go with your first instinct. Your first instinct actually picked a girl's name!
