How to wean off bedtime bottle

DS2 is 10 months old and I'm aiming to get him off the bottle at around 1 year old.  We are working on converting 1 of his bottles each day to a sippy cup.  He does well with my mom and not as well with me (I EP so it's not a nursing issue), but I'm working on it.  Anyway, DS1 had a major silent reflux explosion just before the 1 year mark and stopped drinking *altogether* so I have no experience there.  Do most people try to increase milk at dinner and decrease milk at bedtime, slowly, until you've eliminated that bedtime bottle?  Makes sense to me but I don't know.   We will also work on not warming the bottles as much, slowly until they are basically fridge cold.  Hope he tolerates it and we will be on our way to whole cow's milk straight from the fridge in a cup!  It appears we've beaten the milk protein allergy, so that is awesome.
