Our support worker wanted to let us know that our home study has made it into the discussion room for a few situations, and sent us just very basic info about each one. My husband and I are SO EXCITED that we are even making it this far for each situation - our youngest son just turned one, so we knew DCF would be more hesitant to choose us over other homes.
One situation was for a 3yo boy, 5yo boy, and 6yo girl (we were also being considered for just 2 of the 3 - heartbreaking that they would split them up!). Another was for 4 & 5 year old girls, and the third was for just a 5 year old girl (this is the one that we were called to help out with respite care, but declined because of the M situation).
We learned from the M situation how incredibly difficult it is to welcome a child into your home and deal with issues/behaviors that they have (in addition to everything else we dealt with). So I am assuming I must be insane because the thought of getting 3 at once is beyond exciting. We LOVE chaos in this house - the more the merrier! Between the dogs, cats, birds, fish, and kids I figure they are all going to keep me young and in shape for a very long time! Plus, the thought of siblings getting separated is just too much for me. I would much rather have to put a little (ok a LOT) of extra effort in to make sure they stay together, than take the easier route and split them up.
Re: News from our support worker
Good news! I hope you can get something soon, you have been through so much and it's not fair since you are so awesome. I just read your other post with the update since I last saw you, WTF? I am so mad for you. Message me on FB with updates or if there is anything I can do to help since I can rarely post on here since my phone always signs me out.
PS I am sure I will me messaging you after our orientation on the 26th with a million and one questions.
