Hey all, my hubs really likes the name Rhett Dean if we have a boy. I like it, but suggested Everett with a nick name of Rhett. He feels Everett is too popular, which I understand. Just wondering what you all think of the name Rhett.
I never hear the name Everett. I like your suggestion of naming him Everett and calling him Rhett. Rhett on it's own really isn't my style, but I think it works with Dean as a middle name. If you like it then I would go for it.
I adore Rhett as a standalone name, but I'm not sure it sounds right with another one-syllable mn. Rhett Dean has a choppy feel to it. Everett Dean flows much nicer.
I prefer Rhett over Everett, but I would prefer that either the fn or mn have more than one syllable. The flow sounds off with Rhett Dean and I like the flow of Everett Dean better, even though I like Rhett more than Everett (if that makes any sense).

THIS all of it lol my best friend's son is named Rhett so I'm biased and definitely love the name but I do agree with kay. I'd say Everett Dean with the nickname. There is nothing wrong with doing that. It gives him options later.
I love Rhett and Everett seems trendy to me. However, I do think that Everett Dean flows much better than Rhett Dean. What about a middle name with more than one syllable?
Thanks everyone! It's nice getting some outside opinions. Dean is my husband's middle name, his paternal grandfathers name, his maternal grandfathers middle name, and his father's middle name. He would really like to stick with Dean. We will talk about it a bit more. I am only 17 weeks so we still have a while left to decide! thanks again!
Re: Name opinion please
I like it better as a standalone name than as a NN for Everett, but I would think you may get a lot of GWTW comments. That may or may not bother you.
There's a reg on here with an adorable DS named Rhett-- I can't think of her SN right now but maybe she will see this and chime in.

Eh I don't actually think Everett is all that popular but may be a regional thing.
Everett Dean may be one of my fav names.. love it Rhett is cute nn but I just don't love it on its own.
I love the name Everett (no nickname!). Not really a fan of Rhett or the flow of Rhett Dean.
Everett Dean is a great name, but it doesn't really need a NN.

Also Everett is not that popular. I only know one baby named this.
