I can't think of a single confession today.  I have been reading everyone's trying to find inspiration, but nothing is coming to me.

I have eaten 3 donuts, but that's all I got.  I feel like after last week's was DDed we really need to step it up.

    :O I did NOT DD!!!!!!

I've been avoiding one of my friends because I think she's a bad mother and I don't want to hear her advice and opinions on my pregnancy and how to raise my baby.

I've been avoiding friends because they are all thinner than me! And ALL they talk about is protein and dieting! It's SOOOO annoying!

I guess this is a confession.  I'm all about common etiquette and courtesies, but I had no clue that diaper showers were considered poor etiquette until yesterday's post got linked (by one of us!) on the showers board.  It made me feel kind of stupid.  But they are super common around here--especially for work showers. I never thought a thing of it.

Just to be clear though, I have never seen one with registry or size info, so that I did side-eye a bit.  Sorry OP of that post.

I think etiquette on such things as baby showers and bridal showers are becoming more relaxed. I mean, the people you invite are your friends and I'm sure they are not judging you, nor do they know or care about the etiquette rules. I think people who are so stuffy about it, need to chill.

I actually had to tell my friend who is throwing my shower that I'm not supposed to have any input; she just wants me to be happy, so she keeps asking what the theme should be, what we should eat, where it should be, etc.

And people get so worked up about shower etiquette on here too. I think it's a more heated topic than circumcision!

Thanks! It was awesome until this week when he decided to learn how to stand on the toybox and radiator covers and open the windows.  UGH.  BTW were u the one yesterday asking if there was a mouse in "Just for you"?  If so I am reporting back...no mouse I repeat no mouse.

It wasn't DD'd.  It was just a bump glitch.  Happened to quite a few posts around TB that day.

I am planning my sister's shower which is 2 weeks before mine. I am way more organized than she is, so all my spreadsheets for RSVPs etc I just forward onto her so she can use them for my shower.....so technically you could say I am having a hand in planning my own shower....DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN

OMG! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! You are just being gift grabby! lol

Yes, that was me!  I wonder what book I was thinking of then...

I was always told 15 percent is a standard tip, and to tip higher if they did a really good job. Was I just told wrong, or is it a regional thing, or has it changed in the last 10 years? I'm kind of embarrassed to think that I've been shafting servers my whole adult life.
I leave 15%(ish) if the service is bad or slightly below average. 20%(ish) most of the time. and 20%+ if we go to one of our local spots where we have become "regulars" and we have a relationship with the server. I figure the server gets what they "deserve" and I consider myself a pretty good tipper.

This is what I do too. I refuse to leave 20% for below average service, unless the server acknowledges the bad service and apologizes. I don't think I'm obligated to leave a 20% tip; however it would have to be horrible service for me to leave below 15%.

While I love the baby inside my "bump," I hate the bump itself and keep resisting letting my husband take pictures of it.  Mine is not "cute" it just looks like the fat belly I already had now has gone on a deformed growth spurt!

  • Even after having a lo, I still think that the baby is so gross right after they come out. I told the nurses last time to clean him up first.

  • I worked my a$$ off all morning covering for someone else on one of the busiest days of the school year, so I am bumping it for the rest of the day! My boss is leaving for a doctor's appointment so while the cats away...

And, even though I should, I don't feel even a little guilty about it.

  • Not too flameful but I do feel bad about this.  Our good friends from HS are getting married tonight and I waited until 9 PM last night to try on my favorite (non-maternity) dress to make sure it still zipped.  It didn't.  However, I ran around our lame mall here in the suburbs for an hour and found 2 dresses (1 Motherhood clearance, one non-mat) dresses to choose from (I obv bought them both), a pair of shoes and coordinating jewelry all for under $200 all at Macy's.  Everything was on sale except the freaking jewelry.  Crisis averted, I learned my lesson.  Hopefully I look halfway decent.

I was really relieved when the u/s tech told us we were having another girl. I was already feeling guilty about being disappointed in having a boy. I know that's a totally taboo feeling around here, but I don't give a ***.

I second this. I wanted a girl so bad. I don't know how I'd react if she was a boy...not horribly, just shocked and I'd have to get used to it. I'm glad I don't have to. I am scared that baby will have a penis when I deliver as karma haha.

  • I have seen every episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloe and Lamar, and the Kourtney and Khloe and Kim taking New York and Miami. And all of the 16 and pregnant and teen mom episodes.

Crappy TV is my vice. I like watching other people's drama.

    Plus Kim is hilariously ignorant.
