I was just browsing my local CL and came across a listing for 12 newborn Swaddlebees Simplex AIO's - Says they are in excellent condition, with some lighting staining and were washed in Rockin' Green. She's asking $15 each or $175 for the whole lot of 12 - They are all cute patterns. Keep looking or is this about as good as it gets?
ETA: I forgot to mention that these are newborn dipes
Re: Is this a good deal?
FWIW, I would probably take the deal for a few of them. Although I have not used them yet since my babies are still inside babies, I really like the feel of them and prefer the natural fibers over those of the Basix.
ETA: I guess what I am saying is that I think $15 for one is a pretty good deal if they are in EUC or GUC. Staining can be remedied.
Either way, I'd offer maybe 12 or 13 per diaper. Usually people post prices with the expectation of negotiation.
My OS stash is a mix of different brands & types of CD's so that we can try and see what we like...but, DH was an awesome diaper changer with DD and I'm trying to keep it that way with the next one He's cool with pockets, fitteds, etc. for later on but he is so adamant about using AIO's for the newborn stage - I guess he thinks anything else is going to be too much work in the beginning.
I'm going to sneak in some GMD workhorse fitted's in there, but I plan for the rest of my newborn stash to be AIO's. I hear great things about the Simplex, so my hope was to do a mix of both and just hope for the best. If they don't work out, we'll just have to use sposies until baby can fit into the OS because I just don't see myself running out to the local CD store and buying a different brand of newborn dipes, prepping a whole new lot, etc
This is a good point! Hopefully you will love them, but if not, you can probably sell them for what you paid. I'd still make her a lower offer though, just to see.
Eta: the downside to seconds is being at the mercy of whatever they are offering, plus they tend to sell out fast.
