I know that our January babies are still young for sitting, but I was wondering if any of them have started.

DS1 started sitting unsupported for short periods of time right before he turned 5 months. Cole isn't quite there yet, but maybe in the 2 weeks until heturns 5 months. He definitely loves to be in a seated position, but he still likes to thrust his body backwards at random. He can sit with a Boppy around him, but it doesn't last very long. 

Are babies are growing so fast!!!! Sloooowwww down!

DD is getting reaaaallly close to sitting. She can balance for a few seconds by herself but not quite there yet. She leans forward quite a bit which of course puts pressure on her belly and always causes a big spit up! 

Funny thing is that she can almost sit but still hasn't rolled over yet. She's so close to that too but can't seems to figure out her hands.

 They really are growing SO fast. I can't get over it. She's huge--I saw a 7 month old at my school yesterday that I swear she is bigger than (and she just hit 4 months!).

Mine is desperately trying. With the amount if sit ups she attempts, she's going to have abs of steel soon.

our LO can sit with a boppy for pretty extended periods of time at this point, he started a couple weeks ago and has almost mastered pushing himself back up off the boppy if he is tilting. without the boppy though, he is good for maybe 10-30 seconds before he topples over

DS is close....if I'm not near him he is in the middle of the boppy....but I'm still not far away. He loves it too. He can also stand from sitting with us just balancing him by holding his hands. And he is soooo proud of himself when he does it too! They are growing soooo fast!

This is us....DD has no real interest in rolling, but sitting she is getting good at.

So many of you use the boppy! I wouldn't have thought of that. I'll have to try it tomorrow. DS loves to be upright so he can watch his sister play, but if I let go, he falls over, lol.

DD can sit for a pretty good amount of time if she can have her hands down in front of her.  If I prop her up without her hands down she can do it for a few seconds then falls over.

DS is getting to be a pretty proficient sitter! He'll still topple over occasionally though; I don't leave him without a spotter.

He's almost 5 months.

Mine just started sitting a little over a week ago... he'll be 5 month in 2 days!

He is sooo big! Many people guess he's 7 or 8 months because of how tall he is. I saw a friends 3 week old the other day and had to stop myself from being THAT person that exclaims over how tiny the baby is and how fast he'll grow... I remember I didn't think much of those comments not too long ago. Our babes are growing up way too fast!!

dd is sooooooooo close

she's always loved being held in a sitting position since day one...it would be the only way to calm her down sometimes....around 3 months or so she started to try and pull herself up into a sitting position while we were holding her or trying to feed her....the last month or so she would sit pretty good with us holding her, but the last week she's been sitting up by herself for a few seconds...

last night though, we almost got a full minute out of her sitting! i tried to get pictures, but it's hard to take a pic while making sure she didn't face plant...
