XP Mei tai question

I'm planning on DIYing one and will probably be using mainly a high back carry, but will do a front carry sometimes too.

Do you like a padded or unpadded waist on your mei tai?

    I have the Infantino mei tei which isn't fancy at all and I like the unpadded waist.

    Thanks, ladies! I'm finding conflicting info where some people say a padded waist is a must for comfort with a toddler, and others say it will make it more difficult to do a high back carry.

    Well, I think this means that I will just have to make one of each. Smile
