Babies: 0 - 3 Months

What's going on?

I held my son for naps for 6 months maybe more and am determined not to do it again.

Our daughter's been doing great at sleeping on her own. Every so often we have a day where she wants to be held and will wake every time she is put down during the day. We had one Sunday and again today. Last time was at about 3.5 weeks.

Any thoughts? I see I have yet to learn to not try to figure out everything they do. :

  • Ds has been like that since sat. He will fall asleep and then as soon as I put him in the crib, swing or bouncy seat he is wide awake. I have tried putting him down at all different levels of sleep and am still having no luck. I don't remember having this with my 1st, so I am at a loss. I have seen a few similar posts on here lately so I am hoping that means it is a pretty normal phase

  • Newborns are difficult to figure out, that's for sure! If my LO falls asleep in my arms for a nap, she will wake up the second I try putting her down and start whining or crying. But at night, at bedtime or after MOTN feedings, she usually has no problem being put down.

My LO also seems to have a difficult time lately falling asleep at home, and our home is typically calm and quiet. But yesterday she had no problem falling asleep at a noisy diner and slept so well that she was an hour late waking up for her feeding.

Are you swaddling? That's the only thing that works for my LO if we want to lay her down in the PNP. Or we find that laying her in the swing without it running usually works for a couple hours
