EBF and out for an evening...

What do you do to deal with or relieve engorgement when you go out for an evening (or day)? I am going to be out for 5 to 6 hours tomorrow evening, and suspect that that will be just a bit too long for comfort. I will be at a bar, so I'd really prefer not to bring my pump! Lol. I suppose I might have to though? What would you do? Should I just come home early?

Re: EBF and out for an evening...

  • I would pump just before you leave and bring it just in case, bring nipple pads!
  • Loading the player...
  • I did this about a month ago, but I traveled up to see a friend, so it was a whole night. I pumped before we left for the bars, and hand expressed milk into a toilet (i know, gross), while at the bar. I wish I would have brought my pump though, my boobs were killing me the next day. Since I got pretty drunk, I waited like 12 hours from my last drink to feed her, and I just pumped out to relieve pressure, but I threw it all out.

I would suggest bringing a pump, personally.  But it gets really boring sitting there in a stall getting milk out, and I am sure other women were confused to hear the tiny trickle of milk. Haha

Okay, I guess I will bring the pump.  Can't wait to see the look on the bouncer's face when he searches my bag.  Lol. Thanks ladies.
