Single Parents

Nervous

I'm only 7 weeks but I'm already kind of nervous about becoming a single mom... I decided not to track down the father because of all the unknowns and he didn't seem like the stick around type.

Re: Nervous

  • I'm 30 weeks, I told the dad and apparently I'm a really big liar so I just let it go and will be a single mom. I was nervous at first too, but it gets a lot less scary as you go on. You'll find out that you really don't need him there and that you can do it better on your own. I am lucky to have a really strong support system so maybe that helps. I hope you do too, feel free to pm me sometime if you feel like talking!

  • I was so nervous and turns out it was for no reason!!  Things worked out just fine and my friends and family were very supportive and helpful as well so if you have that, it will help so much.  Just don't be afraid to ask for help and things will be fine :-)  Its normal to be nervous!
  • Being nervous is to be expected, whether or not your with the father. You will need some help and support though, hopefully you get it from your family/friends/fellow forum posters, but communities and government resources can also help a lot. Many mothers raise their kids on their own and they grow up having happy healthy lives. Try not too worry too much.
