Adoption

APG - May 10, 2013

Hello and Happy Friday! All I have to say today is TGIF! :)

Welcome to The Bump's Adoption Prayer Group! We are a group who believes that prayer is the backbone to any person, season, or situation in life. If you would like to join the email prayer group and be connected with a prayer buddy, or if you have any requests that you do not feel comfortable stating below, please email me at kirsdances@yahoo.com.

We welcome ANYONE to this group and firmly believe that we should "not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication and with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." -Philippians 4:6-7

We'll give people the opportunity to share:

1. Encouraging Scripture
2. Prayer requests
3. Write out a prayer for the other ladies on The Bump
4. GTKY Question of the Week: Do you like to read? If so, what are you currently reading?

It is my hope that this group will be an encouragement and inspiration to each of you as we sojourn on this adoption road together! Be blessed today!

I'm a dance studio owner, writer, cat mommy, and adventuress who is married to the man of her dreams. My husband and I have had a long-time dream to adopt and it's happening in a way that we didn't quite anticipate. But, like any move of God, it's turning out way better than we expected. We'd love for you to follow our story at www.kirstenkline.com!

Re: APG - May 10, 2013

  • 1. Encouraging Scripture
    'Mordecai told the messenger to reply to Esther, ?Don?t think that you will escape the fate of all the Jews because you are in the king?s palace.  If you keep silent at this time, liberation and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place,A)'> but you and your father?s house will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.?' -Esther 4:12-14 (HCSB)

    I've been studying Esther quite a bit for the past nine months, and have been encouraged to take a stand for what is right and what God is calling me to do. God is opening some new doors and doing some incredible things. For such a time as this has become my personal motto of late.

    2. Prayer requests

    Not adoption related. But.. I own a dance studio and we're having our recitals next Saturday.  Please pray that things go smoothly and that God is glorified through them!  Our recitals are the crowning moment at the end of our school year, and I so want them to go well!

    3. Write out a prayer for the other ladies on The Bump

    As we are heading into Mother's Day weekend--which can be a time of pain and sadness for those who have had miscarriages or are struggling through IF-I thought it would be appropriate to post Hannah's prayer from 1 Samuel 2 as my prayer for all the ladies on this board today:

    Then Hannah prayed and said:A)'>

    ?My heart rejoicesB)'> in the Lord;
        in the Lord my horn is lifted high.
    My mouth boastsD)'> over my enemies,E)'>
        for I delight in your deliverance.

    ?There is no one holyF)'> likeG)'> the Lord;
        there is no one besides you;
        there is no RockH)'> like our God.

     ?Do not keep talking so proudly
        or let your mouth speak such arrogance,I)'>
    for the Lord is a God who knows,J)'>
        and by him deedsK)'> are weighed.L)'>

    ?The bows of the warriors are broken,M)'>
        but those who stumbled are armed with strength.N)'>
    Those who were full hire themselves out for food,
        but those who were hungryO)'> are hungry no more.
    She who was barrenP)'> has borne seven children,
        but she who has had many sons pines away.

    ?The Lord brings death and makes alive;Q)'>
        he brings down to the grave and raises up.R)'>
    The Lord sends poverty and wealth;S)'>
        he humbles and he exalts.T)'>
    He raisesU)'> the poorV)'> from the dustW)'>
        and lifts the needyX)'> from the ash heap;
    he seats them with princes
        and has them inherit a throne of honor.Y)'>

    ?For the foundationsZ)'> of the earth are the Lord?s;
        on them he has set the world.
     He will guard the feetAA)'> of his faithful servants,AB)'>
        but the wicked will be silenced in the place of darkness.AC)'>

    ?It is not by strengthAD)'> that one prevails;
         those who oppose the Lord will be broken.AE)'>
    The Most High will thunderAF)'> from heaven;
        the Lord will judgeAG)'> the ends of the earth.

    ?He will give strengthAH)'> to his king
        and exalt the hornAI)'> of his anointed.?

    4. GTKY Question of the Week: Do you like to read? If so, what are you currently reading?

    I'm a huge fan of David Platt and started re-reading his wonderfully challenging book "Radical" a few weeks ago.  I heard he was at the Orphan Summit and was awesome!
