Ferber advice

So LO is 3 and a half months and were going to start sleep training at 5 months. My husbands a teacher and that's when school gets out we currently rock/shush her to sleep. We've tried drowsy but awake with no luck and Im obviously not going to let her CIO yet. I'm thinking of Ferber training. People who have had luck, please tell me how? Did you modify at all, pick them up, etc? People who didnt and chose a different method, how did you get your LO's to fall asleep and at what ages? Thanks so much!

Im curious about this too, but what if LO is in daycare? How can you possibly train when you can control what is happening during the daytime. I would like to sleep train so my LO will fall asleep on her own and in HER CRIB at night.

It worked well for us but please read the book before you start so you know what you are doing :-)

We used the Ferber method recently with our 9 month old! We were scared that it was going to be too late to sleep train but it wasn't! We started out by putting him down after his last bottle. We were anticipating this being an all night thing but after checking on him every 3-5 mins, he went down in 20 minutes. We did not pick him up at all. It was hard but looking back it was worth it. The next day he went down in 15. By the end of the week, once we put him down, he put himself to sleep. I believe ferber method + establishing a bedtime routine is key to helping baby put him/herself to sleep! We're still working on night time waking, he still wakes up once a night, but overall we're sleeping much better and so is he! Hope this helps!
