Slightly Irregular Gestational Sac

Hi all, yesterday I had some bleeding. Called the doc spoke to the on call doc and was told to go to the ER to get checked out. They did an ultrasound. Going off my LMP I am 6 weeks 3 days. The ultrasound tech wouldn't tell me anything because she said the doc had to. So the doc came in and spouted off some stuff and said everything was ok for now but to get bed rest and see my doc. I asked for a copy of the ultrasound or a pic or something. What they gave me was a report. This is what it says.

Gestational sac seen with slightly irregular wall.
Yolk sac is visualized.
Fetal polesmall fetal pole limited visualization.
Fetal heartbeatlimited visualization.
Fetal heart rate141 beats per min
CRL=1.0 cm, this may be an overestimation. EGA=7 weeks one day plus or minus 4 days, EDD 12/19/3013.
Uterus is retroverted/retroflexed.
Impression single intrauterine gestational sac with somewhat irregular wall. Limited visualization of a fetal pole.

I don't know what to make of all this! I am trying to get in to see my doc tomorrow but I am super nervous. Btw the bleeding stopped yesterday after about 45 min. Anyone been through anything similar or know what to make of this report?? Please help put my mind at ease.

Honestly, hospitals tend to freak you out and call everything "high risk" and throw you on bed rest. At 6 weeks 3 days I think everything listed is normal. Seeing a small fetal pole is normal and the fact that you heard a heartbeat is fantastic. I don't know what an irregular wall means. Follow the bed rest orders but I wouldn't freak out until you see your doctor and get a better explanation.

Thanks! That's kinda what I was thinking. Staying positive. Had some excellent dreams that I saw my doc and everything was perfect. Just going to keep thinking that way! : trying to stay off google too. Lol

Aw, I hear ERs are notorious for freaking pregnant ladies out. Sounds like baby has a great heart rate. Try not to stress. Easier said than done, I know. Happy thoughts your way!

I was having some spotting and after a u/s they found a small SCH. My doctor also said the sac was slightly misshapen, but she didn't seem overly concerned by that, so I am trying not to be either. I am assuming once the SCH is reabsorbed, the sac will smooth out. I'm sure you will get some peace of mind once you speak to your doctor, but it sounds like your baby has a great HB, which is a very good sign.

Thank you for that. And yes I'm sure my doc will be a lot more helpful then the dang ER doc that barely spoke English. I am just waiting anxiously til tomorrow. And yea, I'm very happy about the heartbeat so I am keeping with those happy thoughts! Good luck to you with the SCH.

Lots of women have strange bleeding and go on to have healthy babies. I know a woman who kept having periods during her pregnancy and another who bled bright red with clots and had a healthy baby. A strong heartbeat is a very good sign. Hang in there and rest up!

Thanks. You hang in there too. What's weird is I am measuring a week ahead. Why would that be? Just miscalculation?

The shape of the sack is probably whats changing your measurements. The reading will tell you by the angle they come in at and if the shape is off it will definitely read off. Don't worry about the shape though.

Your baby has a perfect heart rate which means that no matter whats happening with you sac, it's still doing good in there (:
