Is anyone else in this situation. The last few weekends getting her to take a nap is a huge ordeal but dc says she sleeps for almost three hours. Is this normal?
Most of the time it is a similar schedule. Today it wound up being later but she slept in later too. She did eventually fall asleep. After we had given up on nap time and way too late in the day.
Yup- Lo naps at DC but not great at home. She doesn't have 7 friends running around with here and isn't as tired. I mostly solved the issue by doing as many activities as I can. We go swimming in the morning on Sunday, and on Saturdays we enrolled in music or soccer or go swimming.
The last two weeks I've been in the same boat as you OP. He usually takes one morning nap that's 30-60 min and one afternoon nap that's 90-120 mins at daycare. At home, it's nap drama....30 min tops in the morning (I think he might be dropping this one soon anyway, so that one is fine), and afternoon nap 30 mins. Needless to say he's a crab apple on the weekends.
I suspect my answer will ruffle a few feathers but when I told pedi DD was having the same problem, in addition to mirroring DC schedule, she suggested that we give DD an hour in her crib each day.
That means, at nap time, we put DD down and she can do what she wants - nap, play, cry, but she stays in there for an hour. It sounded harsh. I thought we were going to have an ugly COI situation on our hands but with one exception, she has taken a nap for at least 45 minutes since October.
