DD just turned 4 months on Monday. He used to be such a good sleeper, but lately, he naps maybe once a day for 20 minutes. He was going to sleep at 7:30 and sttn, but now he stays awake until 9 or later and has been waking twice a night to eat. My husband is deployed, so it's just me and I'm starting to feel like a zombie I'm so tired! It doesn't matter what I do...rocking, noise machine, singing...he is wide awake. We can't swaddle anymore bc he can roll over. Help!!
Re: Sleep regression?
I feel for you. DS used to be a great napper and pretty good night sleeper. I could put him in the swing, and he would be out in 10 minutes and sleep for an hour or more. Now it takes 30 minutes to get him down, and then he only sleeps for 30 minutes. No matter where I put him to sleep, he wakes up in 30 minutes. He is not STTN, but I used to get two solid 5 hour stretches and he would go right back to sleep after eating. Since we moved him to his crib three nights ago, he's been getting up one hour earlier for all his feedings and for the day, even though he goes to bed at the same time as when he was sleeping by our bed in the RnP.
My husband is home, but gone 16 hours a day and can't be much help when he is home because he has to sleep to be able to work (he goes to school full time and he works with dangerous saws and machines at his job that could really hurt him if he wasn't rested enough to use them properly). It's a killer. I posted about it, myself, and the general consensus is that while their so young, their sleep habits are variable, and all you can really do is talk about how much it sucks. It sounds like you are trying all the right things. Hang in there, mama!

Yep. DS1 had this right at 4 months also. Google "4 month sleep regression."
My only consolation with DS2 being an awful night sleeper is that I don't think it can get any worse when he hits 4 months!!!
DS1: Quinn - 10.22.10 and DS2: Cole - 01.18.13
